Music Marketing Project
-Create a marketing campaign for chosen song.
-Build a brand and use the marketing campaign to introduce the artist of your chosen song.
-Create a distribution campaign and using some of what has been done.
-Create a music video that will develop the artist's brand, include 1:30 of the song.
-Create a video blog post documenting behind the scenes.
-Create stand-alone presentation with overview of marketing/distribution trends and target audience with cited evidence.
-Overview of your brand, outline of campaign, samples of at least three different marketing examples, full viewing of music video with explanation of how it is a marketing tool that represents your artist.
-Distribution plan for artist.
-Selling points of plan and how target audience will be reached.
Research chart
We each either researched a company or a case study. We looked through various sites and researched major artist/groups that were under a company and the companies brief history or re
searched different case studies. We used the companies' site to find our artist and researched their biographies, awards, or fan pages. We also researched their target audience/brand identity, and how they digitally and physically marketed and distributed their music.
I researched Olivia Rodrigo and went through her biography, her various jobs, her first song, and the type of genres her songs are in. I researched her target audience (Mostly female from 15-30). Her fan page included her songs and her jobs (actor, singer, songwriter). Other sites writing about how her music is marketed tell how she distributes her music digitally (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and YouTube), records broken by her songs, and how she physically markets and distributes her songs (free car wash with Sour Patch Kids being handed out to promote her SOUR album, making one of her concerts prom themed, and having packages sent to other celebrities).
